Personal profile

Profile

My research is situated at the intersection of culture, aesthetics, institutions, and audiences, with a particular focus on user participation, experience, and institutional and social frameworks. I have a strong methodological interest in combining analytical and experimental approaches and am particularly engaged in exploring how we, as researchers, both observe, participate in, and influence the contexts we study.
A key element throughout my research is collaboration with external partners, with a strong focus on bridging research and practice and generating knowledge in dialogue with those it concerns.

Research

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the project BØV – Children as Cultural Citizens (2023-2026). From the perspectives of children as an audience, dissemination strategies, and cultural policy, we examine how cultural institutions - across performing arts, visual arts, and cultural history. ensure children’s right to engage with cultural heritage and shape their aesthetic experiences and cultural participation. The project is a collaboration between Aarhus University, the National Gallery of Denmark, the National Museum of Denmark, and the Royal Danish Theatre, funded by the Augustinus Foundation.
Using a combination of qualitative methods, including interviews, observations, and creative research practices - such as involving children as co-researchers, I am particularly interested in how physical spaces, dissemination strategies, power structures, and social relations influence children’s engagement with cultural institutions.

I hold a PhD in Art History and Museology from Aarhus University (2021), carried out in collaboration with Randers Art Museum and as part of the research and development programme Our Museum. My research focused on audience participation in museums, where I explored, through a series of dissemination experiments, how museums can strengthen their role as spaces for participation and cultural citizenship.
