Research
Philosopher of science researching issues in the ethics and epistemology arising from science, technology and the role these play in society. In recent years with a particular focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and related digital technologies. Has written on topics such as transparency, explanation and value-ladenness in machine learning, the relation between digital ageism and algorithmic bias, and the role of ethical principles in AI ethics guidelines.
Teaching
I teach undergraduate courses in Philosophy of Science and Ethics for computer science, IT-productdevelopment and data science, as well as philosophy of science and AI ethics courses on the MSc programme in Science Studies. My MSc courses are available as as elective courses for all master's students at NAT and TECH at AU. I can also supervise projects in philosophy of science and AI ethics, for example bachelor projects, master's theses or stand alone electives.
