Profile

I am interested in the use of novel technology in the clinical workflow, with a major focus on artificial intelligence (AI) using deep learning. Applications include image enhancement, automated image processing (e.g. segmentation), lesion detection, and risk assessment for treatment planning. I am also active in the overall area of medical physics and radiation protection in dentistry.

Job responsibilities

As strategic research coordinator of the ’Intelligent Systems’ research theme, I conduct research activities covering various technical aspects of medical imaging, medical physics and 'dental data science'. This interdisciplinary research typically involves different sections and departments. My teaching actvities align with my research interests, and are focused on the use of the digital workflow and novel technologies in dental practice.
