Personal profile

Research

I am a historian specializing in European contemporary history, with a particular emphasis on the Cold War era. Having earned my Ph.D. from Aarhus University in 2016, I have since worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Southern Denmark and Lund University in Sweden. I am currently Assistant Professor at AU and I am co-directing the MELICA research project. This project seeks to propose new perspectives on the local effects of the Cold War by examining urban civil defence structures utilizing computerized tools and methods, including distant reading and agent-based modeling, alongside close analysis of historical sources.

In research and teaching, I bring an interdisciplinary lens to the study of history, exploring topics such as sociotechnical imaginaries, nuclear culture, preparedness and civil defence; urban history, architecture and geography; psychological defence, media preparedness and information warfare as well as memory studies and cultural heritage.
