Our group focused on the physiological and molecular responses of plants affected by environmental factors. Climate changes accelerated the abiotic stresses like heat, cold, drought and water logging and extreme weather events become more and more frequent. We are interested in the selection of resilient crops, such as tomato, cucumber, wheat, beans and so on to adapt to climate changes. We work with the effects of stress memory and exogenous hormone (mainly melatonin) application to alleviate stress damage. The techniques including gas exchange, chlorophyll fluorescence, high throughput sequencing and qRT-PCR etc. are applied. We aim to explain the crosstalk between the effects of abiotic stresses on a range of plant species from the perspective of plant physiology and genetics.
