Research
With over 15 years of experience in kidney disease research, the Nørregaard Lab investigates how chronic kidney disease develops and how its progression can be slowed. The aim is to reduce inflammation and scarring (fibrosis) in the kidneys and to identify new and improved treatments that benefit patients. We use advanced experimental models and human tissue systems, creating a strong link between basic and clinical experimental research.

Profile
Head of Nørregaard Lab and Professor in Translational Nephrology.
I hold a degree in biomedicine from the University of Southern Denmark and a PhD in medicine from Aarhus University. My research spans from basic science to clinical experimental studies, with a central focus on understanding and treating kidney diseases - particularly chronic kidney disease.
I have more than 15 years of experience as a research leader.
Job responsibilities
I am the research leader of Nørregaard Lab, with primary responsibility for research, education, and financial management. My focus is to create a research-driven work environment that fosters career development and interdisciplinary collaboration with both national and international research groups in academia and industry.
Additionally, my duties include teaching experimental physiology, responsible research practices, and research freedom.
