Research

Why must the heart be constructed in a very specific way to work properly? And what happens in the heart when you have a congenital heart defect? Questions like these form the foundation of Peter Agger's research in cardiac structure and function. His studies aim all the way from the microscopic cellular level through metabolism to the macroscopic construction of the heart muscle. A main focus of interest is how structural and metabolism alterations in the heart influence the development of heart failure.
