I am a Professor at the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University. I am physically located at the Department of Infectious Diseases, Aarhus University Hospital, so unique access to patient samples is just next door. My group investigate the role of extracellular vesicles (exosomes) in host-parasite interactions and the immune modulatory properties of parasitic worms. We also explore if extracellular vesicles can be used as diagnostic markers of infection and if they can be used as drug delivery systems (DDS). Our ultimate aim is to develop new diagnostic methods and novel treatment options to improve the health of humans.
