Profile

My primary research interest is the development of effective, ethical, and useful investigative interviewing techniques for use by the police and other relevant authorities. The purpose of my PhD project is to examine psychological mechanisms occurring when witnesses engage in episodic memory retrieval through research-based interviewing techniques. My research contributes to existing knowledge on autobiographical memory and expands our understanding of investigative interviewing techniques already in global use. In addition, my PhD project is an original contribution to Danish psychological research practice, in that witness psychology has generally not received as much attention in Denmark as in other countries.
