Per Linus Dahlander

Linus Dahlander is an associate professor with tenure at ESMT Berlin. He received his PhD from Chalmers University of Technology and was an assistant professor and an Advanced Institute of Management Research Fellow with the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Group at Imperial College Business School in the UK. He did his postdoc at Stanford University.

Linus has taught classes for MBAs, EMBAs, executives as well as PhD students on innovation, entrepreneurship, and networks. He also consults and advices startups, large multinationals as well as government organisations on issues around entrepreneurship, innovation and networks. He was recognised as one of the best young business school professors by Poets & Quants and his research has won multiple prizes, such as a prize for the best young researcher in Europe on innovation and leadership.

Linus’ ongoing research investigates how new ideas and innovations are developed in networks and communities. The ongoing projects use large-scale analysis of networks, which he integrates with a deeper appreciation for what content flows through networks. His research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Science, Research Policy, and Strategic Management Journal among others. He also served as an Associate Editor for the Academy of Management Journal in the 2013-2016 editorial team.

Linus has accepted to join us as an affiliated professor for two years. Linus will contribute in various ways to the development of our department, for example, participate in PhD courses, give seminars as well as having conversations about research and potentially co-authoring with PhD’s and junior faculty. He plans to visit the department 3-4 times a year.
