Personal profile

Research

Primary research area since 2010: development of diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive methods for melanoma patients. Rather than conventional microscopy of histopathological stains, automated procedures based on digital image analysis is central. Biomarkers of particular interest are Ki67 and CD271 as well as immunohistochemical expression of immune cells.

Job responsibilities

Digital image analysis of histopathological stains; primarily, immunohistochemistry and hematoxylin-eosin. Here, automated quantification of various cell and tissue types as well as immunohistochemical biomarkers are developed, e.g., by artificial intelligence.
