Ecologist using an interdisciplinary approach for understanding biodiversity patterns and assisting conservation. My research theme includes macroecology, biological invasions, megafauna conservation and ecoinformatics. I have worked over a decade with population assessments of tigers and snow-leopards, ecosystem restoration, long-term vegetation monitoring and development of ecoinformatic applications. My PhD research was on understanding plant invasions in India and developing national prioritization for invasive plants management. My postdoc research included modelling novel ecosystems emerging across the global tropics due to biological invasions and climatic changes. I am part of the IPBES global invasive species assessment, assessing global and regional policies for managing invasions. I enjoy teaching modules on macroecology, wildlife population estimation, and ecoinformatics.
