High-accuracy MEG/EEG diagnostics with SCA

EEG and MEG can trace the functional development of the brain, e.g., in children, but encounter accuracy issues due to overlapping neural sources. We address this with spike density component analysis (SCA):

Naturalistic auditory MEG/EEG

Traditional auditory studies use simplified laboratory stimuli, but recent research shows that the brain responds differently to everyday sounds:

Profile

I am a researcher with a specialization in applied MEG/EEG diagnostics and naturalistic auditory neuroscience. I mainly work on the development and critical assessment of computational EEG, MEG, audio analysis, and statistics methods for applied music and health research. In collaborative international teams, I design research experiments and write scientific papers. I am currently working as a special consultant.

Cooperation and dissemination

I have contributed to international research collaborations and method development across Denmark, the UK, Germany, Italy, France, Finland, India, the USA, and China, advancing understanding of functional brain development across the lifespan.

I also designed and presented a workshop to raise awareness of personality differences within research teams, aiming to prevent discrimination and enhance collaboration through complementary skills.

Job responsibilities

I contribute to research in music neuroscience. This includes developing EEG/MEG signal processing methods, analyzing brain responses to music, improving hearing diagnostics for cochlear implant users, literature review, and designing research experiments. I write scientific papers with research results, program experiments with Presentation, and manage online data collection. I use mainly MATLAB for data analysis and visualization, and create presentations to support research communication.
