Personal profile

Profile

I work with complex interventions and health promotion, with a particular focus on pregnant women, families, children, and adolescents. I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Public Health, hold a PhD from Aarhus University, and have a master’s degree in public health science.

Research

My research field focuses on theory and methodology within complex interventions. I completed my PhD on gestational diabetes mellitus, where I was involved in evaluating a health promotion intervention for women with recent gestational diabetes mellitus. Currently, I am working on the prevention of overweight in children and adolescents of mothers with overweight during pregnancy, including examining the long-term effects of lifestyle interventions during pregnancy.

Teaching

I teach health promotion and complex interventions at the bachelor's, master's, and PhD levels. I also have experience supervising bachelor's and master's students in independent projects and theses.

Cooperation and dissemination

I work with several national and international partners, including the Steno Diabetes Centers in Denmark and University College Dublin. These collaborations have expanded my understanding of health promotion and strengthened my ability to work with various professional disciplines.

Job responsibilities

My research field concerns complex interventions with a particular focus on promoting health behaviours and well-being in families before, during, and after pregnancy. I have experience leading large research projects involving participant recruitment, data collection, analysis, and reporting. In my studies of complex public health problems, I use both qualitative and quantitative methods.
