Research
Digestive and metabolic physiology in cattle with emphasis on digestion, absorption, and metabolism of volatile fatty acids, glucose, and amino acids. Methodologies applied are ruminal and intestinal cannulation techniques and catheterisation of blood vessels of cows in combination with stable isotopic labelling of nutrients to assess partitioning of nutrients to various metabolic pathways. Further, production trials are used to follow up on intensive experiments.
