Personal profile
Profile
I work on developing research at the Department of Forensic Medicine, particularly within the Section for Forensic Chemistry, to ensure we are equipped to address important and central questions of health and forensic relevance.
My own research is primarily focused on the development and application of chemical-analytical tools within biology and forensic chemistry. I have a background in chemistry and biotechnology, but have worked for many years with chemical synthesis, bioanalytical chemistry, and global omics studies in biological systems.
Job responsibilities
My primary area of responsibility is as Head of the Section for Forensic Chemistry and Deputy Head of Research at the Department of Forensic Medicine. On a daily basis, however, I lead a research group in the Bioanalytical Unit, which is an umbrella term for the research activities associated with the Section for Forensic Chemistry.
I also contribute to day-to-day casework involving specialized investigations within the Section for Forensic Chemistry, to the monitoring of drug abuse in Denmark in collaboration with the Danish Health Authority, the Customs Agency, and the Danish police, and finally, to various committee work.
