Personal profile

Research

All children deserve a safe and nurturing upbringing. Child abuse is a challenging yet crucial area of research, where we all have a natural obligation to prevent it.

By mapping risk factors for physical abuse of children, we may potentially be able to predict abuse before it occurs, and thus prevent it.
My PhD project investigates neurological diseases in children and parents as a risk factor, through a combination of registry and survey data.

Profile

Graduated as a medical doctor in 2024 from Aarhus University and subsequently employed as a PhD student at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Aarhus University. My primary focus is the prevention of violence against children, with my project integrating parts from neuropaediatrics, social paediatrics, and forensic medicine.

Previously, I have worked within general practice and gastrointestinal surgery. I have gained experience in visual design, project management, leadership, and business.

Cooperation and dissemination

I collaborate closely with the Department of Pediatrics, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, and spend half of my time there. This collaboration has been established through Professor in Neuropaediatrics, Christina Høi Hansen.

Job responsibilities

My primary area of work is research. As a PhD student, beside my own project, I assist on many concurrent projects.
I am involved in supervision, teaching, and communication, both in everyday settings and in the public sphere.

During my studies, I have taken on various research tasks, both in the laboratory, in clinical practice, and within my current research group.
At the same time, I have worked as a practice assistant in a medical clinic and have been employed as a seasonal manager at Legoland.
