Michael Sandberg is an Assistant Professor at Aarhus University, Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering. His expertise and research interests are polymers and fibre-polymer composites, with an emphasis on modern manufacturing engineering. Michael’s research is often conducted in close collaboration with industry, where the application areas span large wind turbine blades and small injection-moulded plastic components.
Michael’s research vision is to apply his background to advance the green transitioning. Both polymers, and especially fibre-polymer composites, face tough challenges in terms of manufacturability and recycling, and this is something Michael seeks to address using state-of-the-art digital tools and simulation.
