Personal profile
Research
My research primarily employs qualitative methods, focusing on content analysis and meta-synthesis. A significant aspect of my research focuses on integrating results from qualitative and quantitative studies into clinical guidelines. This interdisciplinary approach aims to enhance the comprehensiveness and applicability of clinical recommendations, ensuring they reflect a holistic understanding of the available evidence.
Profile
My research primarily focuses on method development, particularly content analysis and meta-synthesis. I work with the Center for Clinical Guidelines and am a professor in the Department of Clinical Medicine at Aalborg University (10%). This role allows me to engage in theoretical and practical aspects, contributing significantly to knowledge and practice in clinical research.
Commissioned
I advise the Danish Health Authority on including qualitative evidence in clinical guidelines, ensuring that qualitative data are integrated into clinical decision-making processes. This enhances the comprehensiveness and applicability of guidelines, ultimately improving patient care outcomes.
Cooperation and dissemination
National collaboration: a multicenter study on: Following the patient - From referral to catheter ablation to home. A qualitative study describing and explaining patients’ experiences involves collaboration between cardiology departments at Aarhus University Hospital, Copenhagen University Hospital, Odense University Hospital, Aalborg University Hospital, the Department of Public Health at Aarhus University, and the Center for Clinical Guidelines.
International collaboration: JBI, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, The University of Adelaide, Adelaide, South Australia, Australia, is a member of the methods group that develops qualitative evidence synthesis as a methodology.
Member of Nordic GRADE Network and The Cochrane Collaboration.
Teaching
I teach at the Master of Science in Nursing, Master of Clinical Nursing, and PhD programs. I teach content analysis, meta-synthesis, and the development of clinical guidelines.
I am a member of the censor corps for Public Health and related programs.
