Executive summary

I am a legal scholar - a UK national living and working in Denmark. I publish in internationally recognised, peer-reviewed journals on a range of law-based topics. I target an audience consisting mainly of policy makers, judiciaries, academics and practitioners. The commercial law topics I take on are diverse and often involve an integrated and alternative legal analysis including economics and political science with a view to improving the state of modern regulation. Research is inspired by case law, proposals for new legislation, and market developments, as well as existing scholarship. I regularly collaborate with other lawyers and economists at home and overseas to improve my output. I attend both academic and practitioner based conferences and workshops as participant and audience member.

I teach mainly at master's level, including in the field of international intellectual property law. There, whilst the focus is legal theory and analysis, I adopt and encourage a contextual approach that involves economic analysis of law and examination of judicial policy and political economy.

At the moment, I am focussed on writing an innovative, user-interactive textbook for autumn 2018 on law-and-economics. The book is provisionally titled, When Economics Meets Law (-an introduction to the economic analysis of law and legal systems-). Developing, expanding and improving this resource - including its delivery, will command the attention of my teaching and research efforts for the coming years.
