My primary research interests are natural resource management, privatization, state formation processes and the experienced consequences of development policies.
My PhD project is about how the local political economy shape the governance of water provision in Nairobi, Kenya. Through examining how the different formal and informal actors compete and cooporate to make the water flow in the city, I study how distinctions between the formal and the informal are produced and how local authorities are constitued.
