Maja Bak Herrie is a postdoctoral researcher at School of Communication and Culture at Aarhus University. She is currently working on the project Perceiving a Pre-Filtered World: Anticipated Perception in a Data-Driven Culture, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. She has published several articles within aesthetics, media theory, and the philosophy of science on topics such as computational technologies of vision, scientific imaging, photography, mediality, and artistic research.
She is editor (together with Tobias Dias) of the Nordic Journal of Aesthetics.
She is a member of the research programmes and centres Arts, Aesthetics and Communities, Cultures and Practices of Digital Technologies, and Centre for Literature between Media at Aarhus University. Moreover, she is co-founder of the new Centre for Aesthetics of AI Images. In a nordic context, she is a member of the societies Nordic Society of Aesthetics and Nordic Network of Women in Aesthetics.
