Research focus

Human Security, Post-Conflict, Development, Medical anthropology, Education, HIV/AIDS, East Africa. Meinert has conducted anthropological fieldwork and worked in various parts of Uganda for a total of more than 7 years. She has also done shorter periods of fieldwork in Indonesia and Kenya.

International Research Networks

The TrustLand project includes researchers from Gulu University Uganda, AU, KU and affiliated researchers from Boston University, George Washington University and Johns Hopkins University.

EPICENTER is a cross-disciplinary center at AU and collaborates with SDU, KU, Steno Center for Health Promotion, KORA, Steno Museum AU, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine; University of Cambridge; University of Southern California, Gulu University and Kathmandu University.

The ENRECA GU project included researchers from Gulu University Uganda, AU, KU, SDU and collaborated with: Tufts University, The Feinstein Centre, Cologne University, Manchester University.
