Profile

The PhD thesis ‘Interplay and Learning – preschool children’s opportunities for participation in pedagogical activities’ investigates the lived interplay between adult and children in adult initiated activities from a sociocultural learning perspective. The first article study how children contribute to and influence pedagogical activities. The second article investigates preschool children’s collaborative encounters in pedagogical activities. The third article study how affectivity influence children’s participation while the forth article study how adults in early childhood education and care settings balance a pedagogical perspective with children’s perspectives in ongoing pedagogical activities. A broad range of sociocultural theories is applied including Wenger (1998), Bruner (1996), Dreier (1999) and several Nordic authors including Bae (2004), Johansson & Pramling Samuelson (2007) and Fink-Jensen (2006).

 

Profile

Lone Svinth hold a PhD degree in educational psychology from the Department of Education, Aarhus University where she were part of the LUDVI project on children’s learning and development in pre-school. Her research focus is children’s participatory learning in adult-initiated activities and pedagogical presents in early childhood education and care.
