Research

I am conducting research in psychiatric epidemiology, and I have a particular focus on eating disorder research. Areas of particular interest to me include cognition, early adversities, infectious disease, comorbidities, and gene-environmental interplay. My research areas cover causes and consequences of psychiatric disorders as well as treatment courses and outcomes. Ultimately, I wish to contribute research that will benefit the patients and their relatives.

As a Senior Researcher at the National Centre for Register-based Research, I conduct research in psychiatric epidemiology and genetic epidemiology. I have a background in statistics.

Job responsibilities

My primary ​​responsibility is research leadership, including fundraising. The research group led by Zeynep Yilmaz and myself conduct psychiatric epidemiology research with a particular focus on eating disorder research. I supervise PhD students, post docs and data analysts. Furthermore, I am part of the leadership team at the National Centre for Register-based Research.
