Personal profile

Research

My research focuses on image theory, image use and spirituality from the middle ages to the end of the 17th century. A particular focus is animation and the life in images, inspired by new materialism and new animism. I am also interested in the changing status of the image through history, from the use of images in ancient Egypt to our contemporary musealisation of images.
