Personal profile

Research

My research cover areas such as statistical learning and machine learning, where I have co-supervised two Ph.D. students, as well as stochastic modeling in bioinformatics and operations research.

Profile

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematics and a part of the Stochastics research group. I received my Ph.D. in applied probability theory from Aarhus University in 2009, and I have a master's degree in statistics.

Prior to my current position at AU, I was employed as a postdoctoral researcher at the Bioinformatics Research Centre (BiRC) at Aarhus University and in the Department of Biology at Stanford University.

I have been an internal and external member of assessment committees for academic positions at all levels, and I have served as treasurer for the Danish Statistical Society.

Teaching

I have taught a wide variety of courses over the years, at both the bachelor's and master's levels, in subjects such as applied statistics, classical theoretical statistics, and modern statistical learning. I have supervised numerous master's theses, bachelor projects, and student projects, several of which have been done in collaboration with industry.
