Personal profile
Research
In my research, I primarily work with exercise and (neuro)rehabilitation. My primary focus is on (1) the effects of multi-disciplinary rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis and other neurodegenerative populations, (2) the interaction between Multiple Sclerosis and Aging and how this influences different outcomes within the ICF model, and (3) the effects of different exercise modalities and how this can be of used as ‘treatment’ across different neurodegenerative conditions (i.e., “exercise as medicine”).
Profile
As a clinical exercise physiologist, I primarily work with physical exercise and multi-disciplinary (neuro)rehabilitation, and how this can benefit persons with different neurodegenerative conditions (mainly Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s Disease, and Aging). I am particularly interested in how different exercise modalities can be used as ‘treatment’ for different neurodegenerative conditions (i.e., “exercise as medicine”).
I am also employed as a Senior Researcher and Head of Research at the Danish Multiple Sclerosis Hospitals.
Job responsibilities
My primary work areas include research-based teaching, own research, research group management, and collaboration with various stakeholders (e.g., actors within the healthcare system working with neurodegenerative populations).
