PhD project title: Effects of climate change on wintering waterfowl distributions in Europe
Project description: To establish the relationships between geographical distributions of key species (Mallard Anas platyrhynchos, Wigeon Anas Penelope, Teal Anas crecca, Pintail Anas acuta, Shoveler Anas clypeata) and present climate by modelling a probability surface corresponding to the probability of encountering a species under given combinations of climate conditions.This ‘climate response surface’ will be used to simulate future distribution patterns in response to forecast climate scenarios and inform future conservation management.
