Personal Information


Born in Svendborg, student from Svendborg Statsgymnasium 1962; married to cand.scient. Leif Nielsen 1967.



Cand.mag.(MA) in "Kristendomskundskab" (major subject) and French (minor subject) Aarhus University. Diploma in education at Statsgymnasiet in Aarhus


Licentiate in theology on the dissertation "Jahve som anklager og dommer", published at TeolTryk Aarhus 1977. Published in a revised edition as "Yahweh as Prosecutor and Judge", Sheffield 1978.


Doctoral dissertaion "For et træ er der håb. Om træet som metafor i Jes 1-39". Gads Forlag, Copenhagen 1985 Published in a revised edition as "There is Hope for a Tree. The Tree as Metapor in Isaiah", Sheffield 1989.

Employment History


Amanuensis in Old Testament at the Section for Old Testament. Transferred to the newly established Section for the Study of Religion.


Associate Professor in the same place.
