Kei Hiruta

Profile

Kei Hiruta is Assistant Professor and AIAS-COFUND Fellow at the Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies. He received his DPhil in Political Theory from the University of Oxford and was previously a EURIAS Junior Fellow at l’Institut d’études avancées de Paris (2018–19), Research Fellow (2016–2019) and Junior Research Fellow (2013–16) at Wolfson College, Oxford, and Global Ethics Fellow at the Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs in New York City (2011–15). He has also been a visiting scholar at Columbia University, Bard College, and the University of Tokyo, and is a co-founder and Associate Editor of Arendt Studies. His edited volume Arendt on Freedom, Liberation, and Revolution was published from Palgrave Macmillan in 2019, and his monograph provisionally entitled ‘Hannah Arendt and Isaiah Berlin: Freedom, Politics and Humanity’ is under contract with Princeton University Press.
