Personal profile
Research
I am conducting research on the epidemiology of ADHD, with particular focus on maternal and child health. Using large-scale Danish register data, I have conducted pharmacoepidemiologic studies on the use of ADHD medication. My research goal right now is to clarify the risks and benefits of ADHD medication during pregnancy. My research contributes to clinicians and policymakers being able to provide more precise, evidence-based care that improves health outcomes for mothers and children.
Profile
I am an Associate Professor in Precision Psychiatry at the Department of Clinical Research, Research Unit for Child- and Adolescent Psychiatry, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), with a secondary affiliation at the National Centre for Register-based Research at Aarhus University. Throughout my career, I have focused on the epidemiology of ADHD, developing considerable expertise in the intersection of pharmacology, psychiatry, and epidemiological methods.
Commissioned
I am a member of the Danish Medicines Council’s expert committee on ADHD in children and adults.

Job responsibilities
I lead large-scale ADHD and precision psychiatry studies, manage grants, and secure data from Danish registers. I collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, use advanced epidemiological methods to analyze outcomes, and publish findings. I teach, develop curricula, supervise PhD and master’s students, and shape clinical practice through expert committee work. I also engage with patient organizations, influence policy, and ensure research quality and compliance.
