Research areas

As a researcher, I am curious about how we create identities for ourselves and others through narrative. My Phd study investigated quantitatively and qualitatively the ways individuals storied the life of their romantic partner, particularly in relation to their personal narrative identity and the culture they were embedded in. My primary research focus areas include narrative identity, vicarious life stories (i.e., narrative representations of others' lives), couples' relationship stories and functioning, and cultural master narratives.
