Academic contractor of NANOCEM (http://www.nanocem.net/) - a European network on the chemistry and performance of cement and concrete (since 2004). Participant in the Interdisciplinary Nanoscience Center (iNANO, http://www.inano.dk/), Aarhus University (since 2004). Local organizer of the Aarhus Winter Meetings (2005 and 2006) under the Danish Chemical Society. Principal administrator of grants from SNF, STVF, and Carlsbergfondet. Research interests: Solid-state NMR spectroscopy (new methods and applications, quadrupolar nuclei), materials science (nanostructured materials, cement-based materials, heterogeneous catalysts), Density Functional Theory calculations (NMR parameters and structural refinements) inorganic and physical chemistry (zeolites, clays, minerals, phase transitions, relationships between physical properties and local structural features).
