Personal profile

Research

My research mission is to develop sustainable legume-based cropping systems relying on nature based solutions. We investigate how crop management and soil-microbial conditions affect plant-based food quality, yield and biomass production alongside determinations of the connected climate and environmental effects. We focus on carbon and nitrogen (organic and inorganic) cycling in the plant-soil-microorganism interface and on development of advanced analytical and isotope based methods to study these C and N cycles of both primary and specialized metabolites.

Areas of expertise

  • legumes - forage and grain
  • carbon and nitrogen cycling
  • isotope based studies
  • legume-based cropping systems
  • plant-based food
