Personal profile

Profile

Head of the Department of Clinical Medicine and Professor of Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine.

Graduated as a doctor from Aarhus University in 1986, and a specialist in clinical physiology and nuclear medicine in 1998. Throughout my research career, I have worked with both basic and clinical research in renal physiology, water and salt metabolism and the development of new radioactive tracers for diagnostics and treatment. I have more than 25 years of experience as a research manager.

Member of the Board of Directors (Vice Chairperson) of the Independent Research Fund Denmark and Chairperson of the Committee for the Novo Nordisk Prize.

Job responsibilities

I am the head of the Department of Clinical Medicine with responsibility for personnel, finances and resource allocation. The department has a complex structure with many employees who have tasks in both clinical work and in the research and education environments.

My focus is to ensure a good framework for recruitment and career development and to ensure an inclusive and meaningful working environment. I work to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing internally at the department and with our most important partners, including especially the hospital managements in Region Midtjylland.
