Niels Haldrup acquired his PhD in economics from Aarhus University in 1993 and since 1999 he has been a professor of economics at what is now Department of Economics and Business Economics. He has been a member of the Danish Social Sciences Research Council (Forskningsrådet for Samfund og Erhverv, 2001-2007) and Research Director for the Danish Graduate Programme in Economics, DGPE, (2002-2008). He was the founder and Center Director of CREATES, a center of excellence funded by the Danish National Research Foundation, 2007-2017. Presently, he is Head of Department. His teaching interests are in econometrics and his research interests include non-stationary time series analysis, seasonality, long memory and the modelling of persistence in economic time series. He has published more than 40 articles in peer-reviewed journals and books including Journal of Econometrics, Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Applied Econometrics, and Econometric Theory. He is an associate editor for  Macroeconomic Dynamics and Journal of Time Series Econometrics. Niels Haldrup is a fellow of Journal of Econometrics,  a fellow of Society for Financial Econometrics, SoFiE, and an elected fellow of International Association for Applied Econometrics, IAAE.
