Research

My research focuses on socialisaton into professional contexts. This includes how young people—typically through education/training—gain access to a field, as well as how more experienced individuals position themselves within the same field and in relation to the outside world. In recent years, I have been particularly interested in the retail sector and young people's choice of this area. Previously I have worked with nature as a professional field. I work from a sociological perspective, qualitatively and quantitatively.
