Academic positions and accomplishments - university education combines classical archaeology (exam.art. Odense University 1978) and prehistoric archaeology (cand.mag. Aarhus University 1986). - degree of doctor philosophiae at Aarhus University in November the 1st 1996 based on my habilitation work "From Stone to Bronze. The Metalwork of the Late Neolithic and Earliest Bronze Age in Denmark". - assistant professor (post-doc) at the Institute of Archaeology and Ancient History, Lund University 1998-2004. - docent at Lund University in 1999 - visiting professor in winter term 2003-2004 at Institut für Ur- und Frühgeschichte, Christian-Albrechts-Universität in Kiel. - professor at Aarhus University from February 2004. The professorship was made possible through a special initiative of the Danish Research Council for the Humanities with reference to the research theme "Material culture and social identification: globalisation in the past and the present".
