Profile

My working area is broad and covers many aspects within health and welfare in pigs. Among others, I am involved in projects regarding causes for sow mortality in conventional herds, causes os tail biting and respiratory diseases in slaughter pigs in alternative productions (organic and free range), infectious causes for and dianostics of piglet diarrhoea, alternatives for antibiotics and zink at diarrhoea, behaviour in pregnant sows in conventional pens and local anaesthesia at castration. Regarding teaching, I participate in the course Organic livestock farming, and I supervise bachelor and master students.
