  • Improvement of the phosphorus utilisation of pigs
  • Determination of the phosphorus requirements of pigs
  • Determination of the phosphorus digestibility in vivo and in vitro
  • Studies of the significance of copper and zinc for the growth and health of piglets

Animal production, nutrition and nutritional physiology of farm animals. Metabolism of nutrients with main focus on mineral availability, requirements, excretion, and utilization in farm animals.

Teaching MSc and BSc students in agro-ecology and animal nutrition and production with focus on environmental impacts. Supervisor for several PhD and MSc students.

Public Sector consultant on the utilization of phosphorus, nitrogen, zinc, copper etc. in Danish livestock production and nutrient content of manure (Ministries and ministerial authorities.

Management and project leading skills from a number of granted projects and as head of research unit.

Awarded Legatstiftelsen Pedersholm’s grant for the research aiming at improving phosphorus utilization in farm animals (1997)
