Personal profile

Research

I am a biomedical scientist specializing in chronic kidney and liver disease. In the past decade my research endeavours revolved around chronic kidney disease (CKD), metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) and organ fibrosis. As such, I established new translational disease models using (human) precision-cut tissue slices. Currently, I am studying the inter-organ signalling networks that link various cardiometabolic diseases.

Areas of expertise

  • Fibrosis
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Fatty liver disease
