Dr. G. Abbiati holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin, Italy, in 2009 and attained his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of Trento, Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering, Italy, in 2014. After awarding a Swiss Government Excellence Scholarship, he joined the Chair of Structural Dynamics and Earthquake Engineering (Prof. B. Stojadinovic) of ETH Zurich, Switzerland (2014-2018). In 2019, Dr. G. Abbiati moved to Aarhus University, Denmark, where he is currently employed as an Assistant Professor in Structural Mechanics at the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering. His research focus is on hybrid testing of large-scale structural systems. Applications span earthquake, fire, and ocean engineering.
