My PhD-project explores, how fire is entangled with and affects territorial dynamics in Eastern Bolivia. Taking Mennonite-Indigenous relations as a point of departure, the project investigates how fire erupts, is controlled and suppressed in the maintenance of territorialities in the agricultural frontier, as well as how public discourses and state regulations of fire affect these dynamics. With my research, I seek to understand in what ways forest fires entangle incommensurable territorial communities and lifeworlds.
