General interests: archaic and classical Greek literature (esp. epic, drama, oratory), linguistic approaches to ancient texts, cognitive and experimental literary studies, Greek historical and synchronic linguistics, Greek grammar.

Some specific areas: characterization in Greek literature, ethopoeia in Attic oratory, conversational structure in Greek, linguistic politeness phenomena, gender-specific aspects of language use, the use of proverbs and wisdom sayings (paroemiology), Greek particles, Greek tense usage, hapax legomena, visualization of Greek narrative, textual criticism of Greek drama; the psychology of dramatic audiences.
