My primary research focus is analytical chemistry and Mass Spectrometry ( MS, MS/MS) and High-Resolution Mass Spectrometry (HR-MS; qTOF-MS, Orbitrap-MS) along with structural elucidation and purity assessment of chemical substances with NMR (1H-NMR, qNMR), development and validation of analytical methods for organic substances, metabolites and bioactive compounds in insects and food, metabolomics in biological samples, sample preparation and extraction, and statistical analysis.
I support and conduct extensive research activities on the fields of food contact materials (FCM), non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) and oligomers, in virgin and recycled FCM, together and in combination with activities in sustainable recycling of plastics.
I was responsible for the operation EU Task Force for multianalyte methods in the fields of Food Contact Materials (EURL-FCM, (2019-2020) and a Technical Scientific Advisor for the Recycling of FCM plastic materials (2019-2020).
Currently, I am working with metabolomics in combination with hyphenated techniques (UHPLC, GC) combined with high-resolution mass spectrometry (HR-MS).
