Personal profile
Research
My research is focused on animal behaviour and welfare, specifically subjects related to postive animal welfare, where animals' positive affective states are promoted. Among others, I have investigated the importance of maternal behaviour to dairy cows, and I am now working on identifying indicators of positive animal welfare in slaughter pigs kept on pasture.
A newer part of my research is the investigation of how animal welfare can be integrated in sustainability assessments, as well as how animal welfare synergizes or conflicts with other sustainability aspects.
