I work on the literary and cultural history of Judaism in antiquity. My research areas include Hebrew Bible, Septuagint and early Jewish literature (Dead Sea Scrolls; Pseudepigrapha; Philo and Josephus); wisdom and descriptive ethics; lived ancient religion; cultural interaction, travel and mobility in the ancient world; gender and intersectionality; and early reception history of the Hebrew Bible.
I serve as the Principal Investigator of the ERC funded project "An Intersectional Analysis of Ancient Jewish Travel Narratives" (Feb 2021 - Jan 2026). For further information, see https://projects.au.dk/aninan/
