Personal profile
Research
In my research, I am motivated by generating new knowledge that improves the care for women and families in the parenthood transition period.
in 2015, I established the “Life After the Loss”-cohort, now including more than 1.500 parents. This Danish nationwide longitudinal follow-up study comprises mothers and partners who have experienced the loss of a child during pregnancy, birth, or in the neonatal period.
Job responsibilities
In 1997, I graduated as a midwife. Since 2001, I have been affiliated with universities and hence combined clinical practice and research in most of my career. I am an associate professor at Aarhus University (AU) and a clinical specialist midwife at Aarhus University Hospital (AUH). In my work, I switch between being a midwife at the birthing unit, doing research and supervising students.
