Personal profile

Research

My PhD concerns the liver's ability to sequester lipids and how this changes in relation to significant weight loss. We are investigating this in a randomized clinical trial, in which we compare medical treatment with Wegovy to bariatric surgery (gastric bypass). In this context, we are also examining the differences in the body's response to weight loss achieved through either Wegovy or gastric bypass.

Profile

I graduated as a medical doctor from Aarhus University in 2016 and have been working as a physician since then. In 2019, I began my specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Central Denmark Region. Since the summer of 2021, alongside my specialist training, I have been pursuing my PhD studies. From the summer of 2023 until the completion of my PhD, I have been a full-time PhD student. Once completed, I expect to finish the remaining part of my specialist training.
